All new official Windows 8 logo unveiled Posted: 17 Feb 2012 08:51 PM PST Microsoft drastically changed the user-interface in Windows Phone 7 and their upcoming desktop/tablet OS update Windows 8 to "Metro UI", the same design philosopy has made the company change the age-old "Windows OS" logo to a brand new look for "Windows 8". The new logo is both modern and classic with bold flat colors, clean lines and shapes echoing the "International Typographic Style" guidelines, that has been a great influence on the companies new Metro style design philosophy. The Windows logo is a strong and widely recognized mark but when we stepped back and analyzed it, we realized an evolution of our logo would better reflect our Metro style design principles and we also felt there was an opportunity to reconnect with some of the powerful characteristics of previous incarnations, said Microsoft.
