| DNSCrypt - The easy and free local DNS security solution from OpenDNS Posted: 23 Jun 2012 02:23 AM PDT We not only need our DNS system to be fast, censor-free but also secure from all kinds of government, ISP or hacker snooping. Various DNS manipulation malware's have already shown the urgent need for an secure, verifiable global DNS system. And DNSSEC (Secure DNS) is the standard solution to the problem. Complimenting DNSSEC, the popular public-dns service provider OpenDNS has came up with an client side DNS security utility for both Windows and Mac named - "DNSCrypt". Aimed to be the "last mile" DNS security solution between your computer and ISP, DNSCrypt is the solution for safe-and-secure DNS, securing users against any man-in-the-middle attacks, and DNS traffic snooping. |
| Ford KeyFree - Automatic login to your online accounts just by getting near to your computer Posted: 22 Jun 2012 06:39 AM PDT While we have some excellent free password managers like Lastpass, here is something very interesting from "Ford"!, yes a software for your computer from a car manufacturer. To promote the keyless entry system feature in Ford cars, the company has released a Chrome extension which once configured, stores user login details for websites like Facebook, Google, and Twitter and then, whenever the user is near their Mac computer the app detects them via bluetooth from an pre-approved smartphone and automatically logins to the websites. Imagine the possibility of just sitting down on your computer and getting 'automagically' logged into your online accounts, without hitting a single key or moving the mouse. Although, not very secure I would certainly like something similar to get integrated with my current favorite password manager "LastPass'. A video demonstration and download link after the jump. |
